Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials stated that “following a significant number of applications this year, the Three Day Event team were particularly impressed by the inspirational work of the Jon Egging Trust with young people across the country.”

Land Rover Burghley Event Director, Elizabeth Inman, said:

“We [sic] are thrilled to be supporting the Jon Egging Trust. Through their pioneering work, the Jon Egging Trust is making a real difference to young people’s lives and we are looking forward to working closely with the Trust throughout 2019.”

The whole team at JET are extremely excited about this partnership and the opportunity to raise awareness of our work to a new audience, helping us to support more young people to be the best that they can be.

What are the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials?

Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials is a comprehensive test of all-round ability of horse and rider. Originally a military event, the Trials draw on the requirements for a top-class officer’s charger: steadiness on parade; the ability to cross the countryside fast in battle; and to be fit and tough enough to continue duties after a strenuous day. Nowadays all three tests have become more technically demanding with little emphasis on suitability for battle!

The annual three-day event is the culmination of years of hard work, dedication and teamwork that enables horse and rider to perform the three comprehensive tests of dressage, show jumping and cross country. The demonstration of courage, strength of character and stamina emulate the attributes that we instil in our young people throughout our youth engagement programmes.

Jon Egging Trust CEO, Dr Emma Egging, added:

“We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with Land Rover Burghley in 2019 as Charity of the Year.  The Jon Egging Trust exists to inspire future generations, helping them to overcome adversity, identify their strengths and work towards their ambitions. This partnership demonstrates our dedication to constantly innovate how we support young people and that inspiration knows no bounds. We are looking forward to using this exciting opportunity to share the fantastic work of the Jon Egging Trust and to help us raise funds to continue to improve the life chances of 10,000 young people across the UK year on year.”
