I am delighted to have joined the Jon Egging Trust in September 2019 as Financial Controller. In this role I am responsible for all aspects of the finance function ensuring income, costs and cashflow are carefully managed and monitored to enable JET to reach and support as many young people as possible, whilst also ensuring all legal and compliance regulations are met.
I am a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants with over 20 years finance experience having worked in Practice, Industry, Education and Charity sectors both in the UK and overseas.
Through my passion for horses, whilst growing up I was extremely fortunate to benefit from working with several inspirational and motivational individuals who had previously served in the Armed Forces. During this time I saw how these individuals helped to change the life paths of a number of struggling young people by providing them with the confidence, resilience and self-belief to achieve great things. It is this ethos which is at the heart of JET and the amazing work the charity does.
Although my day to day work does not involve direct interaction with young people, JET encourages the team to be involved in all aspects of the charity which includes attending and supporting Youth Programme sessions where possible. This has provided me with the opportunity to observe the work of the Youth Programmes team first hand. Through their enthusiastic, engaging and supportive approach it was amazing to see the positive difference being made to small groups of young people within a very short amount of time.
I believe every young person deserves the opportunity to shine, be the best that they can be and to reach their full potential. Through the wonderful work of JET and our supportive partners we help provide the skills to enable this to be achieved.
