As JET’s Operations Officer, I assist our CEO and senior leadership team to manage and develop JET’s operational processes and systems and provide support to our team in using them. I am also JET’s data protection lead.
Undertaking marine studies at both Swansea and Bangor Universities, my career has led me via Abu Dhabi, the British Virgin Islands and Mexico back to Wales where I have been based since 2009. I spent over five years as the Project Officer for the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre and now as well as working for JET I also work part-time at Cardigan Bay Watersports as an Administrator and paddleboard instructor. But just in case that doesn’t give me enough sea time, I am volunteer crew on the New Quay lifeboats.
Aside from conservation, I have a keen interest in other issues facing our society, including those faced by young people. I am fortunate enough to have known Jon and been friends with Emma for many years. The work of the Trust which has stemmed from such heartbreaking circumstances to create and deliver innovative programs to young people facing adversity to help them realise their potential is hugely inspiring. How the Trust has identified its niche, everything it has achieved and how it continues to develop is simply amazing and a real testament to the commitment of the staff, trustees and volunteers. I am excited by the future for the Trust and extremely proud be a small part of this dynamic organisation.
