Building trust at RAF Marham

Students from Downham Market Academy attended a mobile team challenge session lead by staff at RAF Marham on Thursday 20th April.

The staff produced a challenging but exciting set of activities that allowed the students to bring out the best in their abilities and grow closer together as a team.

The students jumped through hoops in relay races, solved complex team work problems and carried out trust exercises that pushed them to place the trust of their wellbeing in each other. Oliver, 15 said “I cannot believe that I had the confidence to place my faith in the rest of the group like that.”

The students are currently enrolled on the Level 2 course of the Blue Skies programme which aims to develop the existing skills the students have shown over Level 1 and explore their confidence in leading group activities. Simon Taylor, our Norfolk JETLO says “Seeing students grow and feel confident enough to put their head above the parapet and lead activities is why we do the work we do.”
