CAYB visit Holyhead Lifeboat Station

A small group of students from Ysgol Canolfan Addysg Y Bont, Llangefni went to visit Holyhead lifeboat station as they are currently studying ‘The Emergency Services’.

The students were very excited to visit the boathouse and see the different boats that the station use and the specialist kit that they wear whilst out at the sea.

“I have loved seeing the big boat today” – Kieran, 17

“I liked seeing the boats too” – Teleri, 14

The students learnt a lot about the importance of teamwork and communication needed in order for the crew to act quickly and efficiently so that they can help people in need as quickly as possible. The student had lots of great questions to ask the crew members and found out that using the RNLI website you can find out every time a boat has been launched.

“It’s been great having the students here today, they really seemed to enjoy looking around the boathouse and had some good questions”. Tony Price – Coxon
