Ascent – Inspiring students at RAF Valley

RAF Valley hosted an interactive educational workshop for 9 lucky students with Ascent’s team of experts.

On 29th June 2015 Ascent and IV(R) Sqn joined forces to deliver a ‘CV Writing and Interview Skills’ interactive learning day with nine Year 10 students from Holyhead High School. The day, hosted at RAF Valley as part of the ‘Blue Skies’ programme, provides young people with access to inspirational individuals and experiences within the fields of aviation, engineering and science. The work of the Trust aims to inspire and capture the imagination of students with significant barriers to learning at a truly formative time in their educational careers.

With a team of experts from Ascent and the Military on hand; the students were privy to a wealth of knowledge and advice as well as getting the chance to take in the exhilarating sights and sounds of RAF Valley for the day. The day was fun and interactive; the students even had the chance to try out virtual flying lessons in Ascent’s state of the art training devices.

Ascent have offered an open door policy to these students should they require any help with CV writing and interview techniques in the future. Ascent is passionate about helping to enhance the learning experience for students like these and is always on hand to engage with the charity in any way possible.
