“Yes We Can! / Gallwn!” project begins on a high with RAF pilots

Our “Yes We Can! / Gallwn!” project, funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund, started on a high with two RAF pilots presenting to 40 students from Canolfan Addysg Y Bont in Llangefni, last Thursday as part of our Inspirational Outreach programme.

The students are learning about the World of Work, so the pilots, Flt Lt Muscat and Sqn Ldr Morris, talked about a typical working day at RAF Valley: attending briefs about the weather, planning their sorties, flying up to three times a day, teaching students and de-briefing. Sqn Ldr Morris has recently moved to RAF Valley from the Red Arrows, so the students were very excited to watch a video about the Reds. The pilots talked about the kit they wear when flying and there was an opportunity at the end where the students asked some thought-provoking questions.

Siân Jones, class teacher at Canolfan Addysg Y Bont said “The sessions were perfectly pitched and relaxed for our students. They related to our topic “The World of Work”, which is great for our students to find out about different jobs. The students really enjoyed it. Thank you.”

Thank you to Musky and Steve for delivering two informative and fun sessions.
