Introducing JET Pathways: Supporting Young People on Their Next Steps

At the Jon Egging Trust, we believe that every young person should have the confidence, skills and opportunity to build a positive future.

Made possible thanks to the Department for Transport (DfT) and UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) funding, we’re able to launch JET Pathways, a new progression initiative designed to support young people beyond our Blue Skies programme as they explore their next steps into education, training and employment.

With support from CAA, NATS, BAE Systems, Royal Air Force (RAF), British Airways, Draken, RAL Space, Eagle Eye Innovations and DfT Aviation Ambassadors, we’re delighted to share a selection of possible pathways to the young people we support.

Helping young people see what’s possible

Blue Skies helps young people develop confidence, resilience, leadership skills and aspirations for their future. But for many young people, knowing what to do next and understanding the opportunities available to them can be just as important.

That’s where JET Pathways comes in.

JET Pathways provides young people with access to inspiring careers content, including real-life stories from industry professionals, day-in-the-life profiles, careers videos and information about a wide range of roles and industries.

By bringing these opportunities and experiences to life, JET Pathways aims to help young people better understand the world of work, see people like themselves succeeding in different careers, and make informed decisions about their own future.

Building on the Blue Skies journey

JET Pathways builds on the foundations young people develop through Blue Skies.

The confidence to speak up, the resilience to overcome challenges, the ambition to try something new, and the belief that their future can be different from what they may have imagined.

We want to help young people take those qualities forward, giving them the information and inspiration they need to explore where they could go next.

Whether they are considering further education, looking for training opportunities, exploring different careers or beginning to think about employment, JET Pathways is there to help them discover what’s possible.

Looking to the future

The launch of JET Pathways is just the beginning.

Over time, the platform will continue to grow, with plans to develop additional resources and opportunities that further support young people on their journey towards meaningful careers.

A key area of future development will be apprenticeships, helping young people discover more about the opportunities available and understand how an apprenticeship could be a route into their chosen career.

We know that finding the right pathway can feel daunting. By making careers information more accessible, relatable and inspiring, JET Pathways aims to give young people the tools and confidence to take their next step.

Explore JET Pathways

We invite young people, parents, teachers, supporters and employers to explore the new JET Pathways website and discover the opportunities, stories and careers content available.

Visit JET Pathways to find out more.

At JET, we believe that potential is everywhere, but opportunity is not. Through JET Pathways, we are helping to create more opportunities for young people to see what is possible and take the next step towards their future.
