CEO DR EMMA EGGING SHORTLISTED FOR #WIDAWARDS 2021

16 September 2021 | News

Super proud to share that our CEO Dr Emma Egging OBE has been shortlisted in the 2021 Women in Defence UK Awards which celebrates the work, inspiration and value of women in the sector.

Emma is nominated in the Resolute Spirit Award category which recognises individual women who have the steadfast spirit to persevere whilst overcoming real adversity.

The Women in Defence UK judges will be looking for examples of where an individual has:

“…shown true determination to overcome real adversity. This could include continued difficulty related to business, environment or culture, or experienced in their personal life. This award has evolved from the Special award, which included a strong element of overcoming adversity.”

Launched in 2011, by founder Angela Owen OBE, Women in Defence UK has grown from a small LinkedIn group to a thriving community of individuals and organisations dedicated to improving equality of opportunity across the defence sector.

About the awards
The Women in Defence Awards were first held in 2016 and since the launch over 2400 nominations have been made.  Now in its 6th year, the winners including Woman of the Year will be announced at the Awards Dinner and ceremony in November 2021.
