Children in Yorkshire first to benefit from new partnership

12 December 2019 | News

We’re thrilled to launch our latest partnership as part of our Inspirational Outreach programme. SecureCloud+ is an IT company specialising in innovative ICT systems for Defence and Public Sector customers with demanding security requirements. They run various outreach projects with sporting, charitable and other organisations and have teamed up with us to offer students who face barriers to learning the chance to develop important life, work and leadership skills.

The barriers that some students face range from a lack of confidence or positive role models, to being the main carer of a parent with a disability. Corporate partners like SecureCloud+ enable us to provide access to Inspirational Outreach and life-changing opportunities linked to aviation, engineering, and science (STEM).

The first group of students to benefit from this new partnership were pupils at Leeming Primary School in north Yorkshire. As part of the first session, a special guest from SecureCloud+ hosted a module on overcoming challenges in life and at work. The IT company’s Team Leader Carole Reeves-Boulton inspired the children, who participated and engaged with the whole programme and moved out of their comfort zone to develop their confidence and self-awareness.

Peter Williamson, CEO and Founder of SecureCloud+ said:

“We are very excited to be partnering with the Jon Egging Trust. The work they do is truly inspiring, and we are keen to make a difference to young people and promote various life skills through the work we do.”

Inspirational Outreach provides bespoke impact days or a short series of sessions to young people aged 7+ according to needs identified by schools. We look forward to working with SecureCloud+ to deliver other sessions across the country to help more young people develop work and life skills, raise their aspirations and re-engage with education.
