Gordon Brothers EMEA Golf Day 2026 in aid of Jon Egging Trust

A partnership that matters

Last year, Gordon Brothers hosted an inaugural charity golf day in support of the Jon Egging Trust. The event raised almost £100,000 – funding that is already transforming the lives of young people who are facing adversity. This is equivalent to over 2,200 hours of Blue Skies or a whole year of Blue Skies for nearly 75 young people.

This year the event is happening again with the hope of raising even more money for the charity- helping more young people re-engage with learning, build confidence and self-belief, and begin to imagine a brighter future.

Because potential is everywhere, but opportunity is not.

The impact you’ve made

The funds raised last year are directly supporting young people on JET’s flagship Blue Skies Programme – a three‑year, intensive intervention for students aged 12 to 15 who are at risk of disengaging from education.

Through weekly small‑group sessions, workplace visits, hands‑on STEM experiences and the encouragement of inspirational role models, students develop:

  • Confidence
  • Resilience
  • Communication and teamwork skills
  • Motivation and aspiration
  • A renewed belief in what’s possible

Thanks to the funds raised by Gordon Brothers, Blue Skies has been able to support more young people than ever before – with 1,000 currently part of the programme. In total the charity has reached around 5,000 young people. The support JET Is able to provide means the progress of the young people is remarkable.

Charlie’s story: A transformation your support made possible

When Charlie first joined secondary school, he barely spoke. He avoided eye contact, found it difficult to join in with classmates, and his teachers worried he was becoming increasingly withdrawn. He was exactly the kind of young person the Blue Skies Programme exists to help.

Over three years with JET, something changed.

Through hands‑on experiences in aviation and engineering settings, sessions focused on teamwork and leadership, and the encouragement of trusted role models, Charlie slowly began to find his voice. He started contributing in group work, then leading activities, and eventually encouraging others.

Today, Charlie is confident, sociable and ambitious – a transformation his teacher describes simply:

‘Charlie wouldn’t be the person he is today without Blue Skies. We have seen a massive change in him as a person. He is mature, and all the tools he has learnt he is using.’

This change didn’t happen overnight. It happened because people believed in him – including you.

By joining this year’s golf event, the lives of more young people can be transformed.
