Youth charity, the Jon Egging Trust (JET), has been selected as one of three charities from over 190 applicants across the UK to receive financial and consultative backing in 2022 from Impetus. Impetus find, fund and build high-potential charities working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, and currently partner with 23 charities across the UK.
The Jon Egging Trust will receive a £100,000 grant, pro bono support from Impetus’ partners, and the expertise of Impetus’ dedicated investment team to help grow their reach and increase the impact of their Blue Skies programmes which support vulnerable young people to reengage with education and build aspiration and self-belief. JET CEO, Dr Emma Egging OBE, who delivered JET’s very first Blue Skies programme to ten Lincolnshire students in 2012, says that the partnership is a huge endorsement for JET which has now supported over 32,000 young people across England and Wales.
“At the Jon Egging Trust, we believe that all young people should be able to leave school armed with the skills they need to succeed. Many of our students come from disadvantaged backgrounds and often face significant life challenges and lack positive role models. We know with the right support and by building their social and emotional learning skills using STEM-inspired opportunities and experiences, the sky is their limit,” says Emma.

In addition to the Jon Egging Trust, two other UK charities have been added to the Impetus stable in 2022, including Khulisa, who support marginalised young people in schools, prisons and the community, and Kids Inspire, who provide mental health and trauma recovery support for young people and their families.
