Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials raises nearly £10k for JET Programmes

16 September 2019 | News

This year JET were fortunate enough to be Charity of the Year for the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, a 5* three-day equestrian event. From the 5th to the 8th September the JET team were on event alongside military volunteers and the infamous Red Arrows Hawk display, meeting members of the public, businesses and elite eventers and talking to them about the impact of JET’s programmes. RAF Wittering managed to secure this £12k asset courtesy of Gp Capt Will Dole, Gp Capt Recruitment and Selection at RAF Cranwell and it proved a popular attraction to all ages.

There was even a royal visit:

High profile events like this are great opportunities for JET, as a fairly young charity to raise awareness to a wider audience and having our logo on display along the cross-country course and show-jumping event gave us the opportunity to reach out to national audiences via BBC coverage. JET ambassador Jon Culshaw was interviewed alongside JET CEO Dr Emma Egging by a variety of media outlets about the work that the charity does. You can see a few key highlights from the event in the video below including some tips from Richard Waygood, Mark Townend and Piggy French on being the best you can be.

JET CEO, Dr Emma Egging talks about the partnership between Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials and JET and how important these opportunities are for JET:

Thank you for everyone that visited us, donated or supported us not only at the event but in the lead up. All of these efforts combined to help us raise nearly £10,000 towards JET Programmes and we are grateful to Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials for the opportunity to be Charity of the Year.
