RAF SCAMPTON CHOOSES JET AS ITS CHARITY OF THE YEAR

28 April 2021 | News

RAF Scampton has selected the Jon Egging Trust as one of its charities of the year, bringing with it much needed support for the Jon Egging Trust and our youth programmes team.

Laura Carey, JET’s Area Director Central said: “What an honour! Such uplifting news to hear from the team at RAF Scampton, especially as JET is marking our 10th anniversary year in 2021. We are thrilled to be one of RAF Scampton’s chosen charities! “

Wg Cdr Neill Atkins, Station Commander at RAF Scampton said: “I am delighted that our whole force community agreed to support the Jon Egging Trust as one of the three meaningful charities we will be raising funds for this year.

“The Jon Egging Trust is important to me and to those on the station as RAF Scampton, the home of the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team. To give something back to the Trust means we can continually support young people through the JET Blue Skies Programme. They deliver excellent work and it’s vitally crucial to us all.”

The support of RAF Scampton at this time is brilliant says Dr Emma Egging, CEO, Jon Egging Trust: “We hugely value the support from RAF Scampton; it’s a special feeling to know that we have such a team and community supporting us this year.”

There are a wide variety of fundraising events scheduled to take place across the station over the coming weeks and months. From cake sales and skydiving (which will take place at the RAF Scampton Families Day this Summer) to a charity auction, a car wash programme and even sporting competitions which will take place as the country moves forward on its roadmap out of lockdown.
