Red Arrows join forces with JET supporters to raise funds

Last week two events involving the Reds raised much-needed funds for JET.

JET supporter and Red Arrows fan Maxine Schofield Grundy (pictured below left) held a raffle for supporters to win a fantastic Red Arrows North American Tour Banner.

Maxine had managed to get hold of a Reds’ promotional tour banner whilst on holiday in the States. As she’d always loved watching the Red Arrows practise – feeling blessed to have lived in several places that have been on their flight path – she knew she wanted to give something back for all the fly pasts she’d personally witnessed. So she sought out some of the Reds to sign the banner and set up this one-off raffle to raise funds for JET.

The winner was Lis Harwood (pictured right), who was thrilled to bag the banner, saying: “I am so chuffed to have won this. I had a lovely afternoon and it’s amazing to have this awesome banner delivered to me by Maxine in person! So pleased to help the Jon Egging Trust do their brilliant work with young people and I’m looking forward to your next fundraiser already, Maxine! Thank you again for organising this one.”

Five runners up in the raffle won Red Arrow 2020 calendars signed by the Reds. Supporters from Kings Lynn to Southampton, as well as people more local to the Lincolnshire base, were in luck – including Lis! She plans to pass her signed calendar on to her sister Jane, who also kindly donated to support JET’s work changing young people’s lives.

Meanwhile, the man behind the stunning photos featured in these calendars, Keith Brewins, was lining up more great shots of the famous Hawks. He joined other JET supporters at a night time photo shoot hosted by Timeline Events in aid of JET at RAF Scampton, the home of the Red Arrows. Along with fellow photographers, including Mark Cullen (one of his fab photos below), he spent an afternoon and evening taking photos of the famous red Hawk display jets in a special event to raise funds for JET.

Look out for more photo shoots in aid of JET on the Timeline Events website.

A big thank you to Maxine for organising the raffle, to Timeline Events for hosting this shoot and to the Red Arrows for their fantastic support of JET.
