Kalan, Level 1 Blue skies student

3 July 2015 | Real Stories

Hi I’m Kalan and I am a Level 1 Blue skies student in Yorkshire.

The best part of the programme was when we went to RAF Fylingdales and built a bottle rocket with Professor Brian Cox, which was actually awesome! We split into 3 teams and made the rocket from a plastic soda bottle and some card for the nose cone, we then took them outside and had the opportunity to launch them. We did this by adding water to the bottles I found this exhilarating. All of our rockets managed to take off but the clear winners were the girls team – I think this was more of a fluke than skill!!!

The thing I most learnt about myself on the Blue skies programme, was that I am happy to share my opinions with my team mates openly and willing to support the team achieving its goal.

Blue skies has been an amazing and I can’t wait for level 2, I have found Blue skies mind-blowing!
