JET was invited into Ferndown Upper School on Thursday 13th October to deliver an Inspirational Outreach session about Teamwork and Communication with 14 young people from years 9 and 10 (aged 13/14).
The session was very much enjoyed by everyone. Kaye Jackson our Dorset JETLO and Allie Hack, South West Regional Manager were accompanied by Des Day from Supply Shack who is a regular volunteer with JET.
We carried out several activities centred on communication and one about teamwork.
All of the young people agreed that they will listen more carefully in future and how valuable and effective working together is. Kimberley said the session “was fun because they all got to join in” and Robert said that in future he would “listen to his friends and work as a team”.
Jane Edwards, Pastoral Manager at the school said that students were much more motivated and engaged after their session and individuals showed leadership skills which you wouldn’t normally see in a classroom environment.
