Volunteer evening at Marsham Court Hotel

Volunteer evening at Marsham Court Hotel

On Wednesday 25th January, JET’s South West team were joined by their volunteers and supporters to celebrate our work in Dorset. The Marsham Court Hotel in Bournemouth kindly hosted the event where we were joined by volunteers, local school representatives, local business supporters, the Bournemouth Red Arrows Association and others interested in the work of the Trust.

The evening allowed the team to talk about the events of the last year and we heard from several volunteers who have worked with JET on both the Blue Skies and Inspirational Outreach programmes. It was wonderful to hear how much our volunteers enjoy their work with our students as well as the interesting visits they have been on. In addition, we heard about the tremendous impact Inspirational Outreach had had on the students of Ferndown Upper School when they visited HMS Sultan – the girls from that school showed particular skill at removing black boxes flight recorders from helicopters!

Such is the level of support we enjoy from our volunteers that Martin Smith, who was unable to join us, sent us a video message from Thailand. We are so lucky to have such dedicated and supportive people as part of the team.

Since that evening we have already enlisted the help of another volunteer and we hope that more people will be inspired to support what we do. Thank you to all our supporters and volunteers for their time, enthusiasm and energy, Team JET is lucky to have you.
