I feel so lucky to have joined the JET team in May 2022 as a Communications and Events Officer. Within this role I hope to help support the wider communications and events team, helping to arrange events and be a foot on the ground. And on the other side, help with social media and make sure we celebrate all the great work the wider JET team do, demonstrating their commitment to working with young people to overcome adversity with the inspirational Blue Skies Programmes.
I have fairly recently graduated from an English and History degree from the University of Leeds in 2021. I undertook much of my degree during the pandemic but being a (albeit virtual) Peer mentor made me realise that I wanted a role that helped made a difference. After graduating, I worked as a creative strategist before finding JET, which now allows me to blend my love for writing and help inspire positive change with organising events.
I see myself as a very positive person, so it’s a great pleasure to be able to portray this positivity in my work. The hard work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure the delivery of the Blue Skies programme is inspirational, and it’s great to see real young lives, the future of tomorrow, being shaped for good by those around me. I am so excited about how much I will learn at JET!
