I’m Mandy the Youth Liaison Officer for Hampshire I joined the JET team in October 2023.
From the day I saw the advert for the role I knew the job was perfect for me and the team are so warm and friendly and made me feel so welcome from my very first day and I can’t wait to get working with the schools, young people and partners across Hampshire area.
I have worked in education for over 20 years and have experience in careers, work related learning, and more recently worked with young people who have disengaged with education and supported them into finding work placements. I am extremely passionate about ensuring that all young people have access to opportunities to empower them and increase their confidence so that they can be the best they can be! Alongside this I have a real interest in mental health and last year I completed training as a Trauma and Mental Health practitioner.
As a busy Mum of 5 children and a puppy called Nacho. When I am not working, I love travelling in my campervan, baking and sea swimming (even in the winter). At the weekends we will usually be found at the beach or exploring our local area.
I am really excited to be given the opportunity to work at JET and the more I learn about the valuable work that the team do and see the passion they have for supporting young people I know that I how lucky I am to work with such an amazing team. I can wait to do my part and start inspiring the young people of Hampshire.
