Graduation preparation for Level 2 students

RAFC Cranwell were the hosts for the latest Level 2 Blue Skies session for students from Priory Witham Academy.

In the morning, the students took part in challenges to test the leadership skills they have learnt during the programme. The RAF Regiment put the students through their paces during these challenges and whenever one was completed, they sat down with the students to do some reflective learning. It was great to see how the students completely engaged with these discussions. They offered each other support and listened fully to all ideas before making the decision themselves on how they would go about the task.

One of the students said “I’ve learnt so much whilst on Level 2, it really showed today in our challenges how much we’ve all improved from the start when it comes to leadership. I’m really looking forward to telling everyone about it in our graduation.”

All the students did really well during these exercises and certainly earned their lunch.

In the afternoon, due to bad weather – hail/snow in late April! – we adapted the session to make a start on the students’ presentations. Each mentor took two students under their wing and helped them formulate their speeches and what they would like to say about the course. After this, the mentors went through some public speaking techniques with the students to help boost their confidence.

The students are looking forward to their graduation and sharing what they have achieved.
